Introduction

Regulations such as those in the European Union already require that a wide range of chemicals are removed by municipal and industrial water treatment plants. It is likely that these controls will expand. In particular, there is growing concern and awareness regarding micropollutants, especially pharmaceutical compounds released into the environment. Advanced post-use water treatment stages have an important contribution to make as part of wider efforts to reduce the release of chemical substances and so protect the quality of available water resources.

Our niche

Dutch companies offer technologies and solutions that can operate either alone or in combination with others to provide the advanced treatment needed to meet higher effluent standards.
