Dutch Water Technology

Mulitple water usage

Traditionally, water has been used on a single use basis. It is removed from the natural environment, put to use, and then returned to the environment. This is the linear approach to resource use.

Our niche

The Netherlands is embracing the move towards creating circular economies. In this, loops are closed and resources of all kinds are recirculated. From a water perspective, this includes following the concept of multiple water usage. The aim is that each unit of water abstracted is used more than once before it is returned to the environment.

The concept of multiple water use is implemented as water reuse. There are many Dutch technologies that can be used in water reuse, allowing multiple water usage in a circular approach to water.
